Gold and Silver

Every Piece of Gold and Silver is Valuable
but so is the Time Searching for it

Is it me or are people living in a dream thinking that success is some kind of entitlement? Recently, I was speaking with a friend and the conversation turned to how bad things were in his life and he didn’t see any way out. As I frequently do, I immediately started asking him questions about his daily routine and what if anything he was doing to break out of this self-destructive thought process.

I was astonished to find out that in his quest to find his personal gold and silver in his life, he spend most of his day complaining about how his life sucked, playing Farmville and blaming everyone else for his misfortune. Don’t get me wrong, the last few years have been challenging for everyone but there is opportunity at every turn, you just have to be paying attention to take advantage of it. It is impossible to succeed if you ignore opportunity. When opportunity presents itself, you better take advantage of it because that gold and silver that you are looking for might never show itself again.

The rich get richer during recessions because they know that while they are acting upon opportunity and building wealth everyone else is throwing in the towel and playing emotional Farmville. I am in no way bashing Facebook or that people spend time decompressing by playing Farmville or any other time eater. I am merely suggesting that giving up on your quest for the gold and silver of your life (whatever it might be) before you find it is personally and professionally destructive.

The most important ingredient in becoming wealthy (emotionally and financially) is the commitment to the process not the outcome. If you become hyper focused upon results, you will fail every time and before you know it you will quit at everything you do. Quitters never win and winners never quit.

Think about the most successful you have ever been in your life. I’m not talking about making money, I’m talking about something that you were successful at like sports, gardening or playing a musical instrument. Everyone has had success at something so think back. How did you become successful? Did it happen by accident or did you work at it because you were committed to the process?

Whether you like Tim Tebow or not, he is a perfect example of someone that is committed to becoming better at something no matter what others say or think about him. Are there better football players in the NFL? Sure there are but there isn’t anyone more committed to what he believes and what it takes to become successful than him. If he would have listened to all the analysts and pundits, he would have quit months ago and resorted to some mundane activity that would be rotting his brain and robbing him of the success that is sure to come.

Finding the Gold and Silver in Your Life is a Process

It takes time and commitment. If you think you can just try something for a few days, weeks or months and create wealth that lasts a lifetime, you will be very disappointed and you will never be successful at anything. Most people know that Michael Jordan is considered to be the best basketball player ever. What is less known is that he got cut from his high school basketball team way before he developed into the legend that he is. He loved basketball and committed himself to the process of being the best that he could be. He never thought he would ever be considered the best ever but the commitment to the process made him exceptional and it took many years of hard work to achieve it. Remember that the next you feel like you are losing your nerve because your personal gold and silver might just be waiting for you around the next corner.

Your Personal Gold and Silver Awaits

Casting blame and doing unproductive things all day is not going to get you anywhere close to what your life has in store for you. It’s easy to fall into the trap of self-doubt and allow others to dictate your well-being. Believe in yourself, commit to the process of finding your personal gold and silver whatever it is. Don’t let short term results or the advice from negative people derail you from your journey to success. Every piece of gold and silver is valuable but so is the time searching for it.

Stay Focused and You Will Find Your Personal Gold and Silver.

Success. The Pursuit of Purpose.

Success. The Pursuit of Purpose

Success. The Pursuit of Purpose

Over the last year, I have spent an extraordinary amount of time trying to understand more about myself. It occurred to me at some point during this exploration that it comes down to what is going on subconsciously that makes it possible to succeed at anything. What we think and do on a regular basis defines not only our successes or failures but our character as well. It has become abundantly clear that success resides within each of us and those who embrace it and make a commitment to bettering themselves succeed and those who don’t will ultimately fail.

The reason that I have been on this journey of self-realization and reflection is not only to help myself become a better and more successful person but also to help others do the same. I have found that by helping others break out of their self-destructive patterns helps me keep mine at bay. Being successful is a state of mind; it has nothing to do with how much money you have or the state of the economy. During the current downturn, there are thousands of exceptional people who are suffering from self-doubt not because they lost their job or that they can’t find one; it is because they have lost touch with what is truly important. Success is not about pursuing a position or money; it is about the pursuit of purpose.

Success equals Passion

Successful people are always passionate about something. Enough so that their successes are a byproduct of their passion and their passion is a result of their pursuit of purpose. It starts with a paradigm shift in each of us. What are you passionate about? If you can answer this simple question, then you are well on your way to figuring out what your purpose is and success will quickly follow. By the way, being passionate about making money isn’t a good enough answer. The pursuit of purpose has deeper meaning than money alone. If you pursue your purpose with a passion, everything including making money will happen automatically.

Sure, we are in challenging economic times but there are a lot of successful people out there right now. What makes them better than you? Really, what makes them successful? The answer is that they decided to be successful. Yes, that’s right, they decided to and they won’t accept failure under any circumstances. If you are looking for the key to success, that is it. You must decide to become successful and keep pursuing it whether things are challenging or not. Don’t ever give up!

Quitters always fail. You absolutely cannot succeed in anything if you quit. Also, if you have never failed, you cannot succeed. Some of the biggest failures are those who have never failed. So, success comes from the pursuit of purpose not from being right all the time. You are going to make mistakes, count on it. Learn from them and keep on going with a passion because if you do, you will succeed.

Success. Don’t Ever Quit!

Thomas Edison once said “I haven’t failed; I just have found ten thousand ways that it won’t work.” He just kept on failing looking for that one success and once he found it kept on doing it. Successful people find out what works through their pursuit of purpose and once they find it, they duplicate it over and over again. This can never happen if you quit!

Baseball Hall of Fame Inductee Stan “The Man” Musial’s lifetime batting average was .330 and was the model of consistency. Having a .330 batting average is an amazing accomplishment but he once said “I get to do what I love to do even though I fail 67 percent of the time”. He never quit and his pursuit of his passion made him successful.

Lyle Alzado was one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL in the 1970’s and 80’s and he was asked what made him so successful. He responded by saying “I just throw everyone out of the way until I find the man with the ball”. What this means is that he had to make mistakes over and over until he became successful and he did so by never giving up. So all you really have to do is throw all your failures out of the way until you find what works then duplicate it over and over. Success awaits.

Success is a result the unrelenting pursuit of purpose. Find that purpose, be passionate about it and never quit and success will find you.

Here’s to your success!!

Work From Home Ideas That Don’t Suck

Work from Home Ideas That Don't Suck

Work from Home Ideas That Don’t Suck

All of us wish we would come up with great work from home ideas that will not only make us wealthy but don’t suck at the same time. I have responded to countless emails and texts from people asking me what they should do to make money at home. The answer to that very loaded question is that it is different for everyone.

The hope for most people is that might be able to take someone else’s work from home ideas and somehow magically turn that into a massive income with little or no effort. The truth is that you can take someone else’s work from home ideas and build amazing wealth but it will take time and effort on your part. The art of duplication is how any company or person ultimately becomes successful. Think of ANY successful person or company that you can. Now ask yourself this question; did they become wealthy by themselves? The answer most of the time is a resounding no… they built a company or idea with the help of others and surrounded themselves with like mind people with the same passion to succeed. If you are looking for the magic ingredient, there it is.

Work From Home Ideas – Find Your Passion

So, how can you generate residual income for yourself using someone else’s work from home ideas? Find something that interests you and that you are passionate about. I’m not talking about being passionate about being passionate or passionate about making money, everyone has that. I’m talking about work from home ideas that excite you. One’s that you can’t quit doing at night, and one’s that make you jump out of bed in the morning to get started. If you could ever find that, there is no way you won’t succeed! Passion is a hard thing to compete with.

Think about all the things that make you cringe about going to work every day. Make a list of these things and make sure that whatever work from home ideas that you come up with don’t include anything on this list. By the way, I’m not suggesting that everyone in the world hates their job… but if you loved it so much, you probably wouldn’t be reading this right now. Anyway, pick a topic or topics that are of interest to you. Can these topics be something that can be turned into work from home ideas? Are there other people that you know or online that would be or already interested in this idea? The chances are that you will think of tons. If you like doing it, then I guarantee there are others.

Now, how can you take this work from home ideas and leverage them into a way of making money? This is where most people fail… You are going to have to in one way or another find it within yourself to sell something. How else do you think you are going to make money? I’m astounded by anyone that wants to act upon work from home ideas and doesn’t want to sell anything. Well, I hate to be Johnny Raincloud but that just isn’t possible.

Work From Home Ideas – And That’s It!

To have great work from home ideas that are successful, you must be able to monetize a product, information or an idea and then teach others to do what you have learned. Just think about what you will be doing… telling people about something that you are passionate about, making a ton of money and teaching them to do the same… THAT’S IT and IT doesn’t suck!

This concept is so simple that it is hard for most people to grasp. It isn’t brain surgery and contrary to popular belief, it isn’t done by using the internet alone. There are many people right now that put too much emphasis on the internet when the real power is in relationships. Sure, you can meet new people online but NOTHING will happen until you build a relationship. I would almost bet that everyone reading this knows of someone that is struggling to make it in this economy. You could start with your next door neighbor and then walk down your own street and find enough people looking for a way to make money at home that it would set you and them up for life! Follow your passions, educate yourself as much as you can about the topic or topics that you have chosen and you will have found the best work from home ideas.
